Job Summary

The College of Arts & Sciences Office of Philanthropy is searching for a Graduate Assistant in Philanthropy to support the fundraising, stewardship, communication, and alumni relations activities for the University of Kentucky College of Arts & Sciences, and will work collaboratively with assigned Arts & Sciences Office of Philanthropy staff across the University A&S Office of Philanthropy to secure maximum results.

Duties Include:
*Assist in the design, planning and implementation of programs and events.
*Participate in drafting stewardship reports, invitations, announcements, impact letters, newsletters and other materials.
*Work collaboratively with colleagues, alumni volunteers and College leadership.
*Provide service to alumni, volunteers and others to ensure successful programming.
*Assist with general clerical and office work.

Assistantships are 20 hours/week assignments with a provided stipend and tuition waiver


Please provide at least one letter of recommendation for the required document titled, Specific Request 1.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

*Ability to work with limited supervision and carry out multiple projects simultaneously.
*Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform tasks with energy and enthusiasm.
*Ability to participate and contribute to a total team effort.
*Strong communication skills, both oral and written, and strong customer service orientation.
*Strong interest in working with alumni, friends of the College and volunteers.
*Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No
Preferred Education/Experience

*Prior experience or knowledge of basic fundraising techniques.
*Prior experience in public relations, marketing, sales and event planning.
