Amgen's 10 - 12 week internship program offers meaningful project experiences that impact patient's lives. This internship provides the opportunity for executive and social networking events and to participate in community volunteer projects while providing a competitive compensation.
Limited relocation housing and/or transportation allowance may be available for eligible candidates.
The intern will apply their scientific background and literature analysis skills they learned in school to practical situations. This setting will allow them to learn how to apply the skills of a trained pharmacist to the biopharmaceutical industry, teaching how to integrate business needs with clinical and scientific expertise.
Projects may include disease state or product related analysis for Oncology-Hematology disease areas. The intern will be expected to achieve the following objectives:
- Review of relevant literature
- Analysis of scientific data relevant to Amgen's business needs
- Development of scientific content in various formats
- Summary and presentation of findings to a cross-functional team
Basic Qualifications
Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:
18 years or older
Graduated with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
Completion as a first year graduate student before internship starts and currently enrolled in a MBA program for a MBA internship OR a Master's program for a Masters internship OR a PharmD program for a PharmD internship OR PhD for a PhD internship from an accredited college or university
Enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship or co-op assignment
Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
Preferred Qualifications
Two years study in a pharmacy doctorate program
Strong project management skills
Ability to think critically & work independently
Excellent interpersonal skills
Attention to detail
Understanding of literature searching & data evaluation
Understanding of biopharmaceutical commercialization process
