Overview

The General Manager of Toyota Field and STAR Complex is the primary person responsible for oversight of all field and stadium maintenance, building and turf standards and operational performance. This position manages the day-to-day operations of Toyota Field and STAR Complex to include the selection and development of staff; establishing and accomplishing business objectives, and working closely with all entities that utilize Toyota Field and STAR Complex. The General Manager role provides top level oversight to ensure facility standards, service standards, organizational standards, local government standards and profitability goals are established and achieved.

Responsibilities

  1. Facility Maintenance Supervise and manage the Turf and Landscaping Operations Teams to ensure all facilities throughout the complex are in good condition, operating safely and efficiently.
  2. Team Development and OversightSelect, hire, train and oversee a team of professionals in the area of Operations Supervision, Turf and Landscape Management and other areas as required to ensure the organizations policies and procedures are properly managed and maintained, all resources are properly maintained, and that all organizational goals are met in a timely manner.
  3. Fan Experience- Supervises, sets and maintains a standard of quality customer service standards consistent with SS&E Family standards. Handle concerns effectively and positively. Problem solves and overcomes barriers to provide superior Fan Experience.
  4. Safety and SecurityOversee all field operations to include security, health and emergency procedures. Partner with the appropriate personnel to ensure security and emergency response is timely.
  5. Budget DevelopmentDevelop a fiscal plan to include cost saving. Budget and target all projected expenses pertaining to the overall Soccer Complex, as well as all projected income from sporting activities.
  6. Revenue Generation Oversee and continually develop new ways to generate revenue for Toyota Field and STAR Complex. Examples include but are not limited to rentals, tournaments, special events, and programs.
  7. Capital Projects Oversee and manage all venue capital projects to include budgets and financial reports for the PFC group.
  8. Perform additional duties as required by senior leadership.


Qualifications

  • BS/BA Degree required or any combination of education and experience equivalent experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities managing a large, complex recreational facility.
  • 4-6 years experience managing large, complex sports and recreation facilities and programs.
  • 3-5 years proven experience leading large teams and managing multiple projects and priorities.
  • 2-3 years experience with diverse maintenance responsibilities, including building upkeep.
  • Experience in developing new, or working with existing community committees or authorities. Active business community involvement.
  • 2-4 years experience with profit and loss, budgeting and cost controls.
  • Experience working with regional sports teams (scholastic, collegiate, professional) to develop and promote an arena.
  • Experience in supervising food and beverage operations preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays in addition to normal business hour, as needed.
  • Ability to work outdoors 50-75%.
  • Ability to walk, sit and stand for long periods of time in an arena setting.
  • Must possess and maintain a current, valid Texas drivers license.
  • Must have the ability to pass a standard background screening.
  • Must obtain Texas Pesticide Applicators license within 180 days of employment.
  • 10% of job able to be performed remotely/90% of work needed to be performed on-site as needed or on a seasonal basis.
