Job Summary | Conduct historical research using primary and secondary sources on several topics relating to faculty research. The major focus concerns historical memory of slavery and tourism in the southeastern U.S. (ca 1900-15). Duties include retrieving primary and sources from various campus libraries, note-taking, working with online databases, and creating files as instructed. Therefore, as of October 18, 2021, all new hires prior to their first day of employment must submit appropriate documentation showing, i) completion of the first vaccination against COVID-19, or ii) completion of the full vaccination series against COVID-19, or iii) approved exemption (medical contraindications or a sincerely held religious belief) through the formal exemption process from the COVID-19 vaccination requirement. For those employees who have completed the first vaccination against COVID-19 prior to their first day of employment, the second vaccination (if applicable) must be completed following the vaccination recommended schedule to be considered fully vaccinated. |
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | Strong attention to detail; good organizational skills; ability to read and prepare notes using a computer; working with online databases for long periods. |

Preferred Education/Experience | Students with strong historical interests and/or experience preferred. Students majoring in history or interested in historical research are especially desired. History majors preferred. |
