Fluid Systems Components Engineer

Role Summary:The Fluid Systems Components Engineer is responsible for the design, test, project management and maintenance of engine fluid systems on GE Aviations Turboshaft Turboprop (TSTP) engines, such as the T700 engine used on Blackhawk, Apache and Bell 525 helicopters. In this role, you will define, develop, analyze, and integrate fluid and air components and systems, support field investigations, and resolve manufacturing and other design issues in support of engine assembly and test.

Essential Responsibilities:



+ Execute, with guidance from senior engineering team members, the analysis, design, test, and integration activities required to deliver engine fluid system product solutions for GE Aviation products





+ Issue engineering drawings and other configuration management documents





+ Participate in root cause / field investigations





+ Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures





+ Work with NAVAIR / Army customers as well as fluid system suppliers such as Woodward and Collins





+ Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments





+ Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews





+ Participate on teams performing process standardization and GE Simplification efforts





+ Augment fuel system product learnings by participating in cross controls development programs in the engine systems and controls system software development spaces









Qualifications/Requirements:



+ Bachelors degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university







Desired Characteristics:



+ 1-3 years of experience in an engineering position





+ Strong sense of ownership for assigned components and/or systems, including fuel controls and fluid pumping systems, valves, fluid tanks, heat exchangers, actuators, and filters





+ Experience with Fluid components, such as pumps, fuel controls, actuators, valves and filters





+ Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing





+ Hardware design experience
