**Role Summary/Purpose**



The post will be part of the Fire Prevention, Security & Contractor Control Team, based within the Facilities Department.



**Essential Responsibilities**



+ To assist in the control of on-site external contractors, including reviews of method statements and risk assessments.

+ Close monitoring and assessment of contractor tasks whilst on GE property.

+ Maintenance and test of fire protection equipment including periodic preventative maintenance.

+ Carrying out of fire patrols & assessments on all GE Wales properties.

+ Operation of on-site CCTV systems.

+ Support the GE on-site contracted security provider.

+ Act as point of contract whilst on site for security / fire and/or emergency requirements

+ To administer First Aid and Defibrillator as and when required.

+ To adhere to and carry out the requirements of the GE global security framework

+ Carry out tasks related to facility maintenance when required



**Qualifications/Requirements**



+ Shift pattern 4 days on, 4 days off, including nights (365 days).

+ Knowledge of CCTV systems

+ Knowledge of fire extinguishers, fire alarms and sprinkler systems including periodic testing and fault isolation.

+ Current driving license.

+ Prior experience in security and contractor management including gatehouse and site patrols.



**Desired characteristics**



+ Hold a current first aid at work certificate.

+ Working knowledge of contractor control and RAMS procedures

+ Fire prevention/equipment experience.

+ Understanding of Health and Safety requirements

+ Computer literacy.

+ Current knowledge of fire risk assessments and procedures

+ Lean knowledge

+ Self-starter with a positive attitude to change

**Security Clearance**
