Main Purpose:

Reporting directly to the US CFO the FP&A Director will have specific responsibility for:

• US business planning and managing capital and expense budgets
• Preparing US and Business Unit results and providing analysis

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the following planning / projections and preparing presentations to US & Group leadership teams, Board of Directors, and outside groups as necessary (AM Best):
  • Financial planning (three-year plans)
  • Financial projections-reforecasts
  • Capital Projections
  • Expense budgets
  • Scenario and contingency planning (all of the above)
• Prepare quarterly analyses, reports, and presentations for:
  • Results, including peer group analyses
  • Business unit operating reviews
• Work with Treasury to produce annual cash flow forecasts
• Assist and demonstrate the translation of the business strategic plans into the business financial plans
• Identify and report to Executive management financially accretive opportunities
• Assist the Executive and senior management in their evaluation of projects and financial decision making
• Assist with the conduct of financial due diligence on target acquisitions and other ad-hoc projects
• Manage a team

Skills and Experience:

• Qualified accountant 8yrs +
• Managed FP&A and/or other finance functions 3yrs +
• Good understanding of business issues in US/Bermuda insurance markets
• Strong attention to detail / pride in work
• Strong analytical and modelling skills (Advanced Microsoft Excel)
• Effective presentation communication at Executive and Board level
• Strong written reporting skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to engage/ communicate with senior underwriters and Executives
• Proactive and able to use own initiative
• Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
