Join our growing team! Compu Dynamics has an immediate opening for One Fiber Optic Technician, One Lead Fiber Optic Technician, and Two Sr. Fiber Optic Technicians. Duties may vary depending on role. This position is a travel position working in Virginia, Texas, Maryland and Wyoming (more states may be added in the future); per diem rates apply. The project is expected to last 2-3 years. The applicant will have experience installing, testing, terminating, and repairing fiber optic cable and auxiliary components.

Essential Functions:

1. Handles fibers for device routing, ribbon breakouts, component assemblies and custom splicing projects.
2. Maintain accuracy of high-density cable structures.
3. Organize and dress all cabling per customer standards.
4. Responsible for running and terminating fiber optic cables.
5. Pulls cable, mounts network devices.
6. Ability to properly test and trouble shoot installation.
7. Ability to perform optical tests and characterizations for fiber optic device modules including visual inspection, geometry, insertion loss and return loss testing.
8. Performs assigned installations as instructed and following established codes, rules, and norms for the industry (including TIA 568 & TIA 942).
9. Ability to populate cabinets by following supplied rack/cabling elevations.
10. Contacts dispatch if help in troubleshooting or resolving the issue is required.
11. Maintain inventory control.
12. Maintains database records for all products under testing for ISO documentation.
13. Follows customer specific procedures for documentation or notification as described in Customer Notes, Service Ticket, or Installation Documentation.
14. Responsible for maintaining an elevated level of professionalism with clients, vendors, and colleagues; works to establish a positive working relationship.
15. Provides timely and completed documentation of work performed.
16. Drives company/personal vehicle throughout service area while following all local laws.
17. Operates vehicles and other equipment safely; adheres to safety protocols; reports hazards and risks; behavior contributes to a safe and secure working environment.
18. Travel up to 100%

Required Education and Experience:

1. High school diploma or equivalent of education and experience

2. 3+ years' related experience installing, terminating and testing fiber and other low voltage cabling.

3. Valid driver's license in good standing

Preferred Education and Experience:

1. Corning Fiber Installation Certification (CFI)

2. Corning Fiber Testing & Troubleshooting Certification (CFTT)
