Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Board Meetings: Preparation of operational and financial reports, setting the agenda, notification of meeting date/times, and recording the minutes for the quarterly RFUHC Board of Directors meeting which occurs in conjunction with the RFUMS Board meetings.
  • Personnel Management: Oversight of all employees of RFUHC. Working with RFUMS HR, ensure qualified clinicians and support personnel are performing satisfactorily and meeting the goals established by management.
  • Licensure Requirements: In conjunction with the Medical Director, the Executive Director ensures all clinical providers are properly licensed and credentialed and meet/exceed all privileging requirements on an annual basis.
  • Financial Management: Collaborate with the CFO of RFUMS in creating budgets and contracts, participate in audits and reconciling financial statements. Develop and ensure the staff adheres to policies and procedures that encourage a model of increasing revenue and streamlining costs where possible.
  • Revenue Cycle Management: Oversee the billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, insurance eligibility and data analytics. Establishes meaningful metrics to assess, document and communicate clinical processes, patient visits, P&L of clinical sites, and productivity.
  • Clinical Education: Work closely with the medical director and our clinical education coordinator and the university which places students on clinical rotations within the Health Clinics. This position will be responsible for gathering data to develop models for analyzing the cost of clinical education in our owned and operated sites.
  • Vendor Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships in the healthcare industry and other related areas.
  • Community Relationship Management: Enhance existing relationships with community partners and develop new relationships in coordination with the Director of Community Health Engagement-- Community Care Connection. Serve as liaison between RFUHC and Lake County Health Department on public health and community engagement.
  • Quality Assurance: Make certain that each clinic (primary care, podiatric medicine, reproductive medicine, behavioral health, student health, and Interprofessional Community Clinic) follows established policies and procedures to ensure that appropriate patient care and patient safety are delivered by all clinical staff.


Required Education and Experience:

Master's degree in health or business administration or related degree; or equivalent combination of education/experience.

3 to 5 years of clinical operations management or 5 to 7 years of medical office management experience.



Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of clinical operations policies, procedures, systems and objectives.
  • Knowledge of fiscal management and human resource management practices.
  • Knowledge of healthcare administration systems.
  • Knowledge of government regulations and compliance reporting requirements.
  • Ability to understand and negotiate reimbursement contracts with health insurers.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in use of computer systems and electronic health record systems.
  • Skill in planning, organizing, prioritizing, delegating, and supervising people.
  • Skill in exercising initiative, judgment, problem-solving and decision making.
  • Skill in developing annual goals that are measurable with strategy for operational optimization.
