Our thought leadership drives the awareness, education and implementation of City Planning principles and practices across our global technology communities, advancing Amgen's position as a biopharma industry leader.

In this role, the Enterprise Architect - Business Engagement will be accountable for engagement, education and communications with the global architecture community, the management of the Enterprise Architecture Review Board and the management of the Enterprise Architecture technical libraries. This role provides support and cohesion across all Enterprise Architecture practices, ensuring our stakeholders can understand and implement our City Planning principles and practices, and our engagement with the broader technical community at Amgen is effective. The Enterprise Architect - Business Engagement is a member of the Enterprise Architecture team in the Office of the CIO, and has the organization, collaboration, communications and leadership skills required to advance Amgen's digital innovation goals.

Key Activities for Role include:
  • Effective and regular communication with Enterprise Architects, IS Architecture community, IS Professionals, leadership, peers and Organizational Effectiveness team.
  • Standardize communication channels, increase awareness and education of enterprise architecture process, practices and principles across global architect community.
  • Create and socialize Engagement Plan for incoming new hire architects and EW architects support of Amgen's digital innovation goals.
  • Advancing enterprise architecture business processes in alignment with ServiceNow transformation and other digital innovation goals.
  • Monitoring and tracking of internal board review Outcomes
  • Management of the City Planning Libraries requires close communication with Enterprise Architects and thoughtful communication to correct audience
  • Lead, develop and execute engagement and communication plans
  • Develop Enterprise Architecture Roadshows and present to executives, managers, service owners and IS professionals in variably sized audiences
  • Create, facilitate and nurture the emerging architect community
  • Domestic travel up to 10% may be required in the future

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree
Master's degree and 3 years of Enterprise Architecture experience
Bachelor's degree and 5 years of Enterprise Architecture experience
associate degree and 10 years of Enterprise Architecture experience
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Enterprise Architecture experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years management experience in Fortune 500, global companies.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working in agile methodologies, including Product Teams and Product Development models
  • Minimum of 2 years managing and organizing architecture review boards in Fortune 500 global companies.
  • Experience leading, designing and implementing business processes and change agent networks
  • Demonstrated ability to understand, and establish approval process for new technology, products and programs
  • Experience identifying plans for talent development and conducting performance evaluations
  • Experience managing technical colleagues, directing conversations and keeping teams on task
  • Ability to effectively communicate with leadership and with peers
  • Ability to self-start and effectively operate within a complex and dynamic environment.
  • Required strong writing skills to write, prioritize and publish internally relevant information
  • Experience working with ServiceNow, Microsoft Office Suite (including Teams and Yammer), Miro, Webex and Confluence are suggested.
