**Job Description Summary**

Responsible for configuration, development, and support of the 2D Digital Plant Design suite of tools, with a focus on AVEVA Diagrams and Engineering.

**Job Description**

**Roles and Responsibilities**

In this role, you will:

+ Act as an administrator and Subject Matter Expert for the AVEVA suite of tools, with a focus on Diagrams and Engineering.

+ Provide technical leadership to an agile team of 4-5

+ Work with business owners and Technical Product Managers to understand and develop product requirements

+ Translate requirements into prioritized list of user stories and deliver to required timelines and quality standards

+ Drive increased efficiency across the teams, eliminating duplication, leveraging product and technology reuse

+ Support process improvements which guide the development, sustaining & support activities

+ Work cross functionally with other product teams to align activities and deliverables

+ Drive world-class quality in the development and support of products

+ Engage other subject matter experts in successful transfer of complex domain knowledge

+ Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP,

+ Understand performance parameters and assess application performance

+ Proactively share information across the team, to the right audience with the appropriate level of detail and timeliness

+ Provide basic user training and training associated with custom applications to support business needs

+ Participate in the domain technical and business discussions relative to future architect direction

+ Assist in the analysis, design and development of a roadmap and implementation based upon a current vs. future state in a cohesive architecture viewpoint

+ Gather and analyze data and develop architectural requirements at project level. Participate in the infrastructure architecture governance model

+ Support design and deployment of infrastructure solutions meeting standardization, consolidation, TCO, security, regulatory compliance, and application system qualities, for different businesses

+ Research and evaluate emerging technology, industry, and market trends to assist in project development and/or operational support activities

+ Coach and mentor team members

**Required Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or STEM Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), with demonstrated experience in engineering.

**Desired Characteristics/Technical Expertise:**

+ Mechanical, Electrical/Controls, Process or Chemical Engineering background

+ Experience with AVEVA or related plant design software

+ Experience working on software projects in the Energy domain (Energy Management, Oil & Gas, Power & Water)

+ Experience working with in an AGILE and/or SAFe environment

+ Understands technical and business discussions relative to future architecture direction aligning with business goals

+ Understands concepts of software deployments and configurations

+ Familiar with automation techniques and tools

+ Understand key cross-functional concepts that impact the organization; is aware of business priorities and organizational dynamics

+ Delivers tasks on-time with alignment to architectural goals

+ Can identify and raise issues, risks and benefits

+ Participates in change initiatives by implementing new directions and providing appropriate information and feedback

+ Applies values, policies, procedures and precedent to make timely, routine decisions of limited, clear choice

+ Resolves day-to-day issues related to strategy implementation

+ Escalates issues that impact the client and/or strategic initiatives

+ Reacts open-mindedly to new perspectives or ideas

+ Considers different or unusual solutions when appropriate

**Business Acumen:**

+ Demonstrates the initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems

+ Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts

+ Demonstrates awareness about competitors and industry trends

+ Has the ability to analyze impact of technology choices

+ Lean experience a plus

+ Ability to takes ownership of small and medium sized tasks and deliver while mentoring and helping team members

+ Demonstrated ability to work with and/or lead blended teams, including 3rd party partners and customer personnel.

+ Ensures understanding of issues and presents clear rationale. Able to speak to mutual needs and win-win solutions. Uses two-way communication to influence outcomes and ongoing results

+ Identifies misalignments with goals, objectives, and work direction against the organizational strategy. Makes suggestions to course correct

+ Continuously measures deliverables of self and team against scheduled commitments. Effectively balances different, competing objectives
