Job Summary | The University of Kentucky (UK) is currently seeking to fill a Director of Employee Engagement and Experience. The HR Director of Employee Engagement and Experience will lead the creation and implementation of a comprehensive employee engagement strategy for the University and create the foundation for UK employees to do the very best, fulfilling work of their career. A focus will be on collaborating with University leaders to determine links between engagement and University/unit success metrics. This position will also partner with University leadership, deans, department and unit leaders to develop strategic plans and tactics to improve engagement and enhance the employee experience. Additionally, the Director will work to integrate engagement and workplace flexibility concepts into existing and future supervisor touchpoints and communications with the aim for strong supervisors to become the primary conduit for increasing engagement and supporting employee success. The Director will be responsible for the execution and overall communication as it relates to employee engagement initiatives. This position will be responsible for the regular completion of an employee engagement survey, both institutionally and at the local unit/college/department level, and pulse surveys as well as the annual Great Colleges to Work For survey. The Director will serve as the subject matter expert on the survey results and will heavily engage with unit/college/department leaders, shared governance partners and teams in sharing the survey results and creating action plans to drive positive employee engagement. They will also coach and educate HR Business Partners, supervisors, and university leaders as they support workplace flexibility, proactively engage to address questions, issues and strategic/implementation needs. Given the COVID-19 pandemic, and the need to protect our university community including our students, staff, faculty and visitors, the University of Kentucky is requiring COVID-19 vaccination for all new hires prior to starting employment. Therefore, as of October 18, 2021, all new hires prior to their first day of employment must submit appropriate documentation showing, i) completion of the first vaccination against COVID-19, or ii) completion of the full vaccination series against COVID-19, or iii) approved exemption (medical contraindications or a sincerely held religious belief) through the formal exemption process from the COVID-19 vaccination requirement. For those employees who have completed the first vaccination against COVID-19 prior to their first day of employment, the second vaccination (if applicable) must be completed following the vaccination recommended schedule to be considered fully vaccinated. |
