Responsible for installation, diagnosis, repair and maintenance of electrical equipment, and systems
Duties
- Inspect, install, maintain, repair and troubleshoot electrical systems (low/high voltage).
- Maintain, inspect and test the emergency generators for the Main Library.
- Maintain and repair automatic doors.
- Assist in performing routine preventative maintenance to all HVAC related equipment.
- Maintain and repair lighting systems.
- Maintain and service Uninterrupted Power Supply systems.
- Checks lighting; changes bulbs, and makes repairs to ballasts and light switches.
- Compiles material lists, initiates orders for parts and materials, picks up parts and materials and verifies shipments.
- Prepares paperwork associated with work orders, permits and inspections.
- Maintains equipment logs and completes work order paperwork.
- Assists with emergency snow plowing and salting.
- Required to carry a library phone and respond to after hour emergency call-ins, as scheduled, including snow plowing and salting.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Regular and reliable attendance is required.
Required Skills
- Must have at least five (5) years of experience in the electrical service field.
- Must have Journeyman electrician certification.
- Experience and working knowledge with Variable Frequency Drives.
- Must understand and follow the National Electrical Code.
- Must be able to read and understand wiring diagrams.
- Must be able to handle and work proficiently with electricians tools and meters.
- HVAC controls knowledge preferable.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
- Must have a valid drivers license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
