This role is technical, hands-on, and innovative. You have an opportunity to join a dedicated team in the development of cutting-edge medical device technology for Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) therapy. In this role, you will design, build and test mixed-system hardware and firmware for SOC-, and/or ARM-based systems for real-time control of PEMF medical devices. Apply a high level of technical expertise to solve design, developmental and operational problems along side of senior engineers. Uncover issues by providing technical support for designs already in production. Plan releases for improvements. Coordinate input from, and participation with, various departments within the company as needed to meet project objectives.

  • Design and implement mixed-system hardware and firmware to control digital and analog circuitry of Pulsed Electromagnetic Field medical devices ensuring that all design standards and product requirements are maintained.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and optimize mixed-system designs in prototype and production hardware to meet specified requirements.
  • Devise solutions to technical problems that arise during product development and production, including safety and EMC compliance.
  • Collaborate with team members to integrate hardware and firmware into fully released products.
  • Work with project managers to define project schedules for hardware tasks. Keep project tasks on schedule and find solutions to mitigate unexpected delays.
  • Stay abreast of the latest changes, trends, and technological advancements in the industry through attendance at conferences, seminars, continuing education, literature, etc.


• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE,) or equivalent, plus at least three (3) years of experience in the design and testing of mixed-system electronics.
• Excellent working knowledge of:
o Mixed-system electronics design including schematic capture (OrCAD preferred) and component selection and acquisition (2 years)
o Board- and system-level troubleshooting of mixed- and embedded-systems designs (2 years)
o Peripheral interface design/troubleshooting including ADC, DAC, SPI, UART, I2C, I2S, and USB
o Bluetooth and/or WiFi communications design
o Creating test code to simulate and verify mixed-system designs
o Electronic lab equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, voltmeters, LCR meters, data-acquisition systems, etc.)
• Proven track record of developing robust mixed-system hardware designs, including revision control and full documentation for design-to-production release
• Familiarity with IEC 60601-1 Medical Device Standards a plus
• Must be able to apply engineering/technical principles to analyze and solve problems
• Must clearly and concisely communicate technical information and concepts both written and verbal with various levels of management in both formal and informal settings
• Proficient with MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint

• Good soldering skills preferred
• Experience programming SOC-, and/or ARM-based embedded software/firmware to control digital and analog circuitry
• Experience interfacing with and testing RF electronics
• Experience with PCB layout tools (OrCAD PCB Editor preferred) and circuit simulation software
• Experience with Closed-Loop Control Systems
• Experience with Real-time Operating Systems


  • Must be able to operate personal computer and printer
  • Ability to work on a computer up to 8+ hours a day
  • Regularly required to sit and/or stand for long periods of time, with the ability to move around within the office and lab work area as needed
  • Adequate vision required for equipment and computer use and reading
