JOB SUMMARY

The eLearning Content Developer III will design, develop and continuously improve training content using a variety of tools and methods that actively engage adult learners.  The eLearning Content Developer III is a creative and innovative individual who can design and build memorable, engaging learning experiences that prepare our learners to use a variety of IT software solutions including CRM, BI and ERP.  This may include eLearning videos, animated modules, simulations, interactive tutorials, instructor-led training materials and other learning assets.  This role requires a deep collaboration with subject matter experts at various levels throughout the organization.  The eLearning Content Developer III will keep an eye on emerging trends in the eLearning space and introduce new concepts and approaches that help us achieve evolving learning objectives.  In addition, the eLearning Content Developer III will manage and administer our LMS solution.!


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Training Knowledge - Knowledge of principles, concepts and methods to deliver training for IT solutions

  • Extensive knowledge of learning and training concepts and principles                                                                                                                                                                                                          
  • Keeps current with emerging learning trends
  • Design a training approach that considers the entire lifecycle of a software-based solution
  • Drive the creation of an eLearning methodology and framework that supports training delivery objectives
  • Recommend and contribute to style guidelines and standards eLearning content
  • Apply broad knowledge of adult learning and digital training concepts and principles

Knowledge Management - Captures, distributes, and archives training collateral to encourage continuous learning, knowledge sharing and collaboration

     Able to:

  • Facilitates and fosters social learning
  • Advocates for knowledge management and evaluates knowledge management success
  • Support the development of knowledge management infrastructure
  • Leverage technology for learning solutions
  • Manage training curriculum life cycle  

Learning Technologies – Applies a variety of learning technologies to address specific learning needs

     Able to:

  • Identify, evaluate, recommend and select technology-based training solutions
  • Identify when and how to use technology as a training and development solution
  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of technology-based training solutions

Instructional Design & Development - Creates designs and develops effective and efficient training programs that enhance the possibility of learning 

  • Design imaginative and innovative curriculum, program or learning solutions to provide an optimal learning experience for students.      
  • Align eLearning content approach to learning objectives and student needs
  • Collaborate with and collect information from business analysts and training team members for use in creating engaging eLearning content
  • Consider adult learning styles when determining the approach to developing and maintaining eLearning content
  • Design, implement and manage training content delivered through a Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Ensure training content is accurate, complete, and adheres to standards for quality, graphics, coverage, format, and style.
  • Research, write, edit, and proofread technical data for use in documents or sections of documents such as manuals, procedures, specifications, and special reports
  • Consider and anticipate reusability when designing eLearning courses
  • Analyze, select and integrate technologies to deliver an optimal training experience

Evaluate Learning Impact – Uses learning metrics and analytics to measure the impact of learning solutions

  • Applies learning analytics
  • Selects appropriate learning impact evaluation strategies to measure learning impact vs. course objectives                                                                                               
  • Communicates and gains support for the training evaluation plan
  • Collects, analyzes and interprets course evaluation data                                                                                                                         
  • Looks beyond course surveys to analyze the impact and benefits of training
  • Modifies eLearning training approach for future training based on evaluation results

SUPPLEMENTAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with internal Organizational Development (OD) initiatives
  • Assist with writing/editing training manuals and supporting written materials
  • Pursues training and development opportunities; Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, English, Communications, or equivalent work experience in a related field required
  • 7+ years’ experience successfully designing and developing interactive eLearning content for Enterprise-level software solutions required
  • 5+ years’ of demonstrated experience using authoring tools such as Camtasia, Captivate, Articulate Storyline, Rise or similar instructional technologies required
  • 5+ years’ instructional development experience required
  • 2+ years’ managing all aspects of an LMS system (preferably Litmos) required
  • 2+ years’ graphic design experience preferred
  • Expert level understanding of visual information design concepts and multimedia principles
  • Moderate to advanced level understanding of video and audio editing and instructional animation software
  • Knowledge of instructional design methodologies including but not limited to: ADDIE model, e-learning blueprint, design thinking, and interactive learning experiences
  • Knowledge of eLearning standards such as SCORM and xAPI
  • Knowledge and experience editing HTML / HTML5
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written English with impeccable grammar skills required. Spanish speaking and writing skills a plus.
