SmithBucklin, a 100 percent employee-owned association management company, is looking for an experienced Education & Learning Coordinator to join the Education & Learning Services (ELS) team in Washington D.C.. The ELS unit plays a critical role in client growth by developing education programs in collaboration with volunteer subject matter experts. Client association members, now more than ever, expect a return on their investment in professional associations - this return is directly linked to providing the type and quality of educational programs and learning delivery options that meet their needs.

Responsibilities include coordination of delivery of association education and certification programs through various options include webinars, on-demand eLearning, virtual and live conferences, regional events, learning management systems, etc. This position works closely with volunteer-led committees. We are seeking an individual who can work in a fast paced matrix environment and ensure strong client relationships while managing competing priorities.

What You Will Do:

Education:

  • Assist with execution of educational strategy and plans
  • Work with volunteer subject matter experts in content and program delivery methodology
  • Familiarity with/knowledge of industry trends and delivery methods of adult learning; (i.e., eLearning, blended learning approaches, podcasts, instructional design, learning management systems, certification tracking tools, etc.)
  • Coordinate all educational aspects of conference program planning (full project planning to include pre-planning call for abstracts, speaker communication and contracting, vendor relations, content development, on-site execution and post event wrap up)
  • Attendance at educational events and client meetings; some travel as needed, approx. 10%
  • Support execution of certification strategy
  • Coordination with Subject Matter Experts (SME) including certification governing boards, subcommittees, and exam development volunteers
  • Implement all certification policies and procedures (including initial application, recertification, reinstatement, ethics, CE, and exam development)
  • Assist with execution of test development activities
  • Serve as staff liaison to multiple education and certification oversight committees
  • Familiarity with certification and testing policies, procedures and guidelines (Knowledge of NCCA and ANSI certification/testing industry standards is a plus).
  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of education and certification program administration
  • Provide administrative support of certification and education programs as required

General:

  • Actively monitor client financials to ensure program is meeting budgeted revenue and expenses
  • Ensure communications with internal teams, vendors, speakers, and volunteers are accurate and timely as it relates to educational programs and initiatives
  • Learn and adapt to changing procedures, methods or processes and assist in teaching peers
  • Advise client and staff team on answers to critical questions concerning activities, problems or issues and provide updates both verbal and written format to supervisors and staff, as required

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-4 years total professional experience
  • Experience working with multiple clients and managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Relevant experience in education and/or certification program/project coordination required
  • Experience working with volunteer committees and/or volunteer subject matter experts preferred
  • Knowledge of certification/testing industry standards
  • Solid PC experience with Windows operating system and a variety of software programs (Microsoft Office Suite - including database management experience, zoom/virtual platforms and LMS systems a plus)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong proficiency in prioritizing tasks, managing time efficiently and escalating concerns (multiple concurrent tasks)
  • Very strong attention to detail
