DCI Donor Services (DCIDS) is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic team member to join us to save lives!! Our mission at DCIDS is to save lives through organ and tissue donation, and we want professionals on our team that will embrace this important work!! We want a power player to join our team in the role of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) Specialist with expertise in diversity programs and project management and help us continue our strategic efforts of belonging and inclusivity! This role will have a dual focus of improving programs both internally and externally. The ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written formats are essential.

For over four decades, DCI Donor Services has been a leader in working to end the transplant waiting list. Our unique approach to service allows for nationwide donation, transplantation, and distribution of organs and tissues while maintaining close ties to our local communities.

DCI Donor Services operates three organ procurement/tissue recovery organizations: New Mexico Donor Services, Sierra Donor Services, and Tennessee Donor Services. We also maximize the gift of life through the DCI Donor Services Tissue Bank and Sierra Donor Services Eye Bank.

Key responsibilities this position will perform include:

  • Oversees DEI Strategy Team and Employee Resource Groups. Serves as first line of support to assist teams in completing their objectives and deliverables.
  • Coordinates DEI training opportunities in both classroom and virtual formats.
  • Provides detailed updates around action items detailed in the DEI strategic plan.
  • Implements DEI metrics dashboard for monthly reporting.
  • Updates DEI plan document as necessary to account for successes and adjustments due to identified needs.
  • Ensures DEI initiatives are disseminated, promoted, and updated via intranet, website, and other mediums as appropriate.
  • Partners with External Affairs Team to coordinate community outreach events in underrepresented communities. Forms strong relationships with underserved communities within each DSA to promote the donor registry and increase registration in communities of color and underserved populations.
  • Manages Volunteer Time Off program and works with External Affairs Director to coordinate corporate partnership opportunities.
  • Assists the Director of Human Resources in identifying talent with diverse educational institutions to improve our organizations representation of underserved communities.
  • Assists the Director of Human Resources in preparing the annual Affirmative Action Plan (AAP). Analyzes recruitment trends and recommends opportunities for improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3 5+ years prior experience in marketing/communications/content creation.
  • Bachelors degree, MBA Preferred
  • Ability to exercise independent judgement and multitask.
  • Exceptional teamwork, interpersonal, communication, and conflict management skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and awareness of, as well as commitment to, contemporary issues of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
  • Experience working on behalf of diverse populations to dismantle barriers to equity and inclusion.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution.
