Loyola University Maryland is seeking a Medical Director for Student Health Services. The Director of Student Health & Education Services is a licensed nurse practitioner, responsible for the overall direction, leadership, and management of the Student Health Center. Promotes a strategic and holistic vision for student health and wellness and a healthy Loyola community, within the mission and values of Loyola University Maryland. Assist in developing institutional policies and procedures. Serve on committees. Provide leadership for the delivery of health education and medical care and the forging of partnerships within the campus and the surrounding community. Work in consultation with the University's Disability Support Services, Counseling Center and Drug and Alcohol Programs. Maintain liaisons with local hospitals and health care agencies. Maintain relationships with parents/guardians of students who have chronic health issues. Evaluate, diagnose and treat patients with illness or injuries, both medical and gynecological. Prescribe medications; design treatment plans; coordinate patient care; refer and consult. Provide counseling for students by appointment for personal concerns, i.e., nutrition, sexuality, drug and alcohol abuse and problems of stress. Order, perform, and interpret laboratory tests and radiological studies.Supervise nurse practitioners, registered nurses, physicians, staff, and graduate assistant while providing strict standards for quality assurance, ethical conduct, and legal compliance. Provide ongoing feedback and performance appraisals for direct reports and recommend areas for individual training and development.Provide supervision of clinical diagnostic and therapeutic measures, procedures for surveillance and tracking of vaccine preventable disease and coordinates appropriate prevention programs and systems. Provide comprehensive management of student health related activities, policy formulation, development, service planning and delivery, general oversight of facility operations and renovations. Evaluate programs, services and quality assurance, including audits.Master's degree in Nursing and certification as Primary Care/Nurse Practitioner, 8 years or more of experience as a health care provider in a clinical setting. Must have demonstrated progressively responsible and successful experience in health education and health promotion activities. Demonstrated successful experience in the supervision of health care professionals. This is a full time 11-month position.
