The Director, Shopper Marketing will be responsible for the strategic direction and creation of impactful point of purchase campaigns supporting the Rx-to-OTC switch of NARCAN Nasal Spray. As a key member of the marketing team, this person will contribute meaningful insight that positions NARCAN for a highly successful launch. The individual fulfilling this role will be lead projects, collaborate with cross functional colleagues in optimizing product and brand strategies, and deliver key tactical activities. The individual fulfilling this role will deliver accountabilities in accordance with the Emergent core values and leadership competencies.

  • Serves as the marketing expert, with the ability to leverage retailer and brand strategies to: develop, create, sell-in and execute thoughtful marketing programs that interrupt shoppers and help drive purchase at retail
  • Act as a point-of-sale marketing and messaging across a variety of forms in addition to planning and execution.
  • Provides channel and retailer specific programming that creates shopper purchase conversion.
  • Uses category, shopper, and retailer specific data to develop insights to identify opportunities and industry trends to generate retailer specific strategic annual marketing plans and budgets.
  • Provides strong thought leadership to shopper behavior-based decision making.
  • Analyzes performance to deliver actionable conclusions and optimize future programs.
  • Align with sales, category, and revenue growth management to forecast promotional performance and analyze results with respect to KPIs and ROI
  • Ensure programs and contracted assets are leveraged to their fullest potential.
  • Prepare and present planned activity, concepts, and business updates as well as share results from program execution to cross-functional departments.
  • Works very closely with trade and distribution teams, analytics and forecasting as well as other cross-functional partners.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, healthcare marketing, health sciences or a related field is required; advanced business degree (MBA) is strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in brand, shopper, and in-line marketing, and/or product management in pharmaceutical, life science or related industry,
  • Experience in Rx-to-OTC switch, product launch & commercialization, consumer insights, market research and analytics strongly preferred.
  • A proven track record of innovative strategy development, alignment, and implementation
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to synthesize findings.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and influence across functional and organizational boundaries and a strong team player.
  • Strong business and scientific acumen preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including for executive audiences.
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed, fast-paced, and entrepreneurial environment.
  • Proven ability to lead multiple projects efficiently and independently.
