GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Director, Project Management will provide leadership, organization and coordination to support McCoy-Rockfords key PM activities, encompassing program planning, governance and project management. This role will ensure all projects adhere to the best practices and standard approaches for program and project management. Manage change and promote the continuous improvement of project management related processes. Additionally, all aspects of project planning, requirements gathering, scheduling and work planning, communications, issue resolution, cost tracking, financial reporting and change management will be managed by this position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Create and maintain consistent standards and processes for the PM team that will contribute best practices with emphasis on the PM role
  • Partner with sales in creating a strategy to identify, pursue and claim additional business
  • Allocate PM resources and distribute PM work load to ensure balanced workload
  • Manage department budget
  • Participate in cross-functional Operations meetings, discussions, and projects
  • Train and mentor PMs and other functional roles in continuous active coaching
  • Develop strong working relationships with clients and internal team
  • Build relationships with key clients and vendors to facilitate growth and participate in local and national organizations that build industry network and knowledge.
  • Present new service offerings to sales and potential clients and educate on present service capabilities
  • Communicate with leadership ensuring that they have a clear view of client needs and that the clients voice is always represented in our strategic decision making process
  • Partner with Business Development Executives to incorporate returns on investment & sell the value proposition in proposals and bids. Support business development in the principles of economic selling
  • Ensure PM team is fully leveraging technology and available tools
  • Initiate regular two-way communication with customers about their expectations and take the lead in articulating and implementing customer focused strategy build on systematic and regular data collection
  • Hire, train, develop and appraise staff effectively. Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Consult with human resources as appropriate.

KEY SELECTION AND SUCCESS FACTORS

WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • At least 7 years experience in Project Management
  • 5+ years in management role
  • Office furniture experience preferred

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required; college degree preferred
  • PMP strongly preferred

OTHER/PREFERRED:
  • Proficiency in MS Office required
  • Ability to read installation plans and blueprints
  • Experience creating, communicating, and implementing project plans
  • Experience creating and controlling budgets
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge in one or more areas within chosen discipline
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication
  • Good judgment, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work with many interruptions
  • Ability to work and communicate with a diverse group of people
