* Master's Degree or 10-15 years credentialing experience required
* Certificate in Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) and/ or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) required.
* Knowledge of New Jersey laws and regulations, medical law, and litigation required.
* Minimum of 5 years credentialing experience required.
* 2 years supervisory experience required.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Credentialing and Medical Staff Services provides leadership, management and operational oversight of the medical staff services and credentialing department to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and to support quality patient care efforts. The Director demonstrates and applies an in-depth knowledge of credentialing standards and procedures, and associated medical staff office duties.



This position assists the Medical Staff President, Department Chairs, and other members of the Medical Staff, as requested. This position also maintains current knowledge of TJC, NCQA, CMS, and state requirements, Medical Staff by-laws, and the rules and regulations for privileging, to respond to enquiries and to ensure the medical center complies with applicable standards.



The Director's responsibilities include preparing a budget and related reports, monitoring the inventory usage, providing competent staffing levels, maintenance of governance documents such as medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations, related documents and policies& procedures, implementing action plans for business goals, holding staff meetings, attending department director meetings, and demonstrating knowledge of regulatory requirements while complying with established standards.

The Director supports medical staff activities by directing the credentialing process, maintaining current and accurate records and rosters, and maintaining Medical Staff accounts. This position also serves as Medical Staff liaison with external agencies, managed care companies and hospitals. This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: Master's Degree or 10-15 years credentialing experience required LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Certificate in Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) and/or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) required EXPERIENCE: Knowledge of New Jersey laws and regulations, medical law and litigation required. Prior experience in licensing standards for health care providers preferred. Proficiency with Credentialing software, MSOW preferred. Excellent oral and written skills. Minimum of 5 years credentialing experience required; 2 years supervisory experience required. WORK ENVIRONMENT Physical and visual ability needed to work computer terminal. REPORTING RELATIONSHIP This position reports to department leadership and supervises incumbents as assigned.
