Digital Banking, UI/UX Design and Experience Lead Madrid, Spain

As the UI/UX Design and Experience Lead, you will lead the design of user-centered digital banking experiences across web and mobile platforms, including the development and evolution of the design system, style guides, and design patterns to ensure consistency in user experience. You will lead the vision, culture, and strategic direction of the design function and recruit, nurture, and retain a team of talented product designers and experienced experts.
Role Responsibilities
Be a subject matter expert for UI/UX topics and methods such as responsive design, user research or prototyping, support across projects, train design colleagues and advise internal stakeholders.
Be the responsible lead for the definition and implementation of a framework for sustainable and modular application design and customer experience
Guarantee a consistent user experience by obeying and developing local and global style guides.
Research in an ongoing development process to validate the design decision and constantly improve the customer experience.
Ensure an independent conception and specification of user experience designs while paying attention to business requirements and technical feasibility.
Optimize the user experience and usability continuously and initiate testing such as user research, A/B tests, eye tracking, or benchmarking.
Collaboration with multiple product areas across Western Union: product management, front-end engineering, integration, as well as with stakeholders
Role Requirements
A degree in UI/UX Design, Computer Science, Interactive Media, or a related field is preferred.
Solid practical experience in digital product design, and UI/UX design with a focus on digital platforms.
High level of expertise in the areas of web and app conception and design, user experience, information architecture, and technical feasibility.
Strong skills in design activities from inception, ideation & discovery to design, prototyping (Sketch, Figma, InVision or similar), and usability testing, as well as in evaluating and analyzing post-launch data to improve a product offering.
Expertise in current and advanced UX research methodologies to stay up to date with the latest industry trends and best practices.
Experience in leading and mentoring a team of designers and working under lean and agile principles.
