Physical Requirements | The essential function of this position include the ability to lift or carry up to 25-50 pounds as needed, as well as stand for long periods of time. The condition of work may include expsposure to communicable disease and injury from intractable patients or sharp instruments. |
Shift | Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, some holidays or weekends maybe required. |
Job Summary | Performs as a member of the interdisciplinary team. Responsible for the evaluation, coordination, and implementation of the nutrition care plan for patients. Provides education and counseling to patients on their nutritional needs. Ensures customer satisfaction and good public relations through the safe and efficient use of resources. Performs duties in compliance with performance improvement plans, TJC, and other licensing, accrediting, and regulatory agencies. Serves as a nutrition educator for students, medical staff, health professionals, and/or general public. Serves as a role model, resource, and leader for other clinical dietitians. Exhibits nutrition expertise in specified area of practice. |
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | Superb direct patient care and critical thinking skills; basic computer navigation skills, and working knowledge of the internet; ability to communicate with patient families and provider/peer team. |
