Shift
Primarily days (i.e. Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm) Please be aware that as an exempt position, job duties may occasionally require additional time in the evenings, nights, holidays and/or weekends to accomplish work goals in excess of 40 hours per week.

Information Technology Services (ITS) is seeking a DevOps Engineer to be part of a team developing and supporting both new and existing API and web applications that are central to the operation of the University of Kentucky

Responsibilities include:

• Create and support applications using C# and the Microsoft .net platform
• Build automation and integration process between various applications
• Build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring, and debugging
• Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of DevOps infrastructure
• Diagnose and solve technical issues
• Work with other engineers to improve software quality
• Improve system performance
• Secure our systems against cyber threats
• Help create technical documentation

Recommended Skills:

• Experience with C#, Java or other object-oriented programming languages
• Experience with relational databases like Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL
• Experience with GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or other CI/CD tools
• Experience with cloud-based hosting in Azure, AWS or other PaaS solutions
• Knowledge of identity or directory services is a plus
• A good understanding of software development lifecycle and agile methodologies
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• A willingness to learn new technologies and tools
• Good written and verbal communication skills
