**Job Description Summary**

Perform conceptual design, including layouts, arrangements and construction drawings for the development and modifications of the FMO (Fuel Manufacturing Operations) facility. Design activity will require full knowledge of design principles, drafting procedures and manufacturing capabilities. Provide Drafting support for the preparation of documentation for various mechanical engineering and tooling projects. Maintain configuration management of FMO drawings.

**Job Description**

The Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to:

+ Create definitions of parts, modules, and assemblies in the form of 2D cross sections, 3D models, tolerance stack-ups, and various electronic data formats to support analysis, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and inspection

+ Maintain configuration management of all FMO drawings

+ Use knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.

+ Uses technical experience and analytical thinking.

+ Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.

+ May lead projects with low risks and resource requirements.


+ Associates or Bachelors degree in engineering, designing or closely related field

+ Experience using design tools such as Autodesk (Inventor / AutoCAD / Vault) or equivalentELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

+ Ability to wear protective clothing and a respirator in accordance with site requirements. Occasional respirator use in airborne contamination area.

+ Walk up and down stairs multiple times during the day. Occasionally climb ladders.

+ Crawling, kneeling, crouching, reaching around manufacturing equipment on a weekly basis.

+ Ability to use computers. Frequent use of computer equipment.

+ An offer of employment is conditional upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen

+ Must be 18 years or older and have legal authorization to work in the United States. If you are not a US person (a US Citizen, lawful permanent resident or have been admitted as a refugee or been granted asylum), you must be be authorized to have access to nuclear technology prior to being hired to work in the Nuclear business.

+ Must be able to relocate to Wilmington, NC

+ Must maintain after hours cell phone availability

Desired Characteristics:

+ Inventor / AutoCAD / Vault experience in mechanical background

+ Advanced mechanical/mechanism design experience

+ Ability to create details from 2D, and 3D AutoCAD, and Parametric Solid Inventor data bases

+ Functional knowledge of ASME/ANSI 14.5M and other drafting standards

+ Understanding of manufacturing processes, fits, and fundamental principals of design

+ Able and willing to take ownership and responsibility for actions, and results

+ Self-starter with energy, positive Can-Do attitude and inclusive style

+ Proven track record of delivering on commitments, producing quality schedules in a fast paced and matrixed environment with multiple assignments and priorities

+ Adaptive, able to quickly learn diverse and varying organizational interfaces with professional astuteness and agility.
