Database Specialist 



Full Time



Salary: 30,000-35,000





Brilliant Detroit seeks a Database Support Staff to ensure that data is flowing into the database system regularly and accurately. This position will report to the Database Manager as part of the Operations Department.  This work will be done in accordance with the core principles of our Detroit-based non-profit team, described below:

Activities and Responsibilities 




  • Prepare data sheets and regularly upload data into the database via the forms that are used to collect it.

  • Monitor the database for duplicates and merge them appropriately as they are identified

  • Work with staff to rectify irregularities in data

  • Assist Data Manager with creating reporting tools in Apricot database

  • Assist Data Manager with coordinating and maintaining training tools for staff and overall system efficiency

  • Help troubleshoot and improve data flows

  • Create new forms in the database as new programs and evaluations are implemented

  • Work alongside team members

  • Participate in training and staff development as required

  • Serve on network committees or work groups, as assigned

  • Perform other duties, as assigned



Qualifications




  • Degree in Information Sciences, Computer Science, Organization Studies, or a related field preferred 

  • Experience working with data and/or databases, especially Apricot Social Solutions 

  • Strong, demonstrated technological proficiency with Google Drive, especially Google Sheets

  • One to three years in non-profit or community settings preferred

  • Strong written and oral communications skills

  • Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and team members around a goal

  • Work with minimal up-front guidance and the ability to take ownership of work product
