Position/Title: Database Analyst
Department: Finance & Administration
Reports to: Information Technology Manager
Status: Full-time; Salaried, Exempt
JOB SUMMARY: The Database Analyst is responsible for overall management and maintenance of the organizations database information, specifically the customer relationship management system (iDSS), to ensure complete and accurate data. This position will analyze data, prepare reports and dashboards using multiple data sources. This position supports multiple individuals and departments and may be assigned to various departments for short- or long-term projects.
DATABASE ANALYST ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducts and facilitates analyses, issues identification, organizational risk assessment, and decision-making processes regarding organizations database information
- Sets and maintain database standards, diagnoses, and troubleshoots errors.
- Creates and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards.
- Provides consulting and analytic services to leadership.
- Analyzes problems and determines root causes.
- Manages master data, including creation, updates, and deletion.
- Manages users and user roles.
- Provides quality assurance of imported data.
- Assists in developing reports and analysis.
- Supports the data warehouse in identifying and revising reporting requirements.
- Supports initiatives for data integrity and normalization.
- Generates reports from single or multiple systems.
- Troubleshoots the reporting database environment and reports.
- Evaluates changes and updates to source production systems.
- Educates and trains end-users on new reports and dashboards.
- Provides technical expertise in data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing.
- Creates automation for repeating database tasks.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
DATABASE ANALYST ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS/EDUCATION:
Bachelors degree in business administration, economics, computer science, management information systems, or related field or equivalent related experience
- Five+ years data analyst or related experience, including proficiency with analytical software or equivalent related education.
- Advanced analytical knowledge of data and conducting big data analysis.
- Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases.
- Understanding of addressing and metadata standards.
- Proficiency in statistics, data analysis, and research methods.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in word processing, spreadsheet, and database PC applications, including Microsoft Office suite of products.
DATABASE ANALYST ESSENTIAL SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES:
- High-level written and verbal communication skills and ability to translate business requirements into non-technical terms.
- Ability to prioritize work and meet multiple deadlines.
- Skilled in identifying and solving problems.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to:
- Walk, sit, bend and squat
- Talk and hear
- Grab, pull or bend items
- View items at a close and distant range
- Sit for extended periods of time
- Use computers for extended periods of time
