Job Summary | The Institute for Biomedical Informatics is seeking a Senior Data Research Analyst to join the team. This position is located in Frankfort, Kentucky, and is a research contract with the KY Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS) designed to support program evaluation research and improving the effectiveness, economy, and the quality of services delivered to Medicaid beneficiaries. It also establishes the baseline member characteristics and an evaluation tool for Kentucky Medicaid’s forthcoming 1115 waiver. The Kentucky Department of Medicaid Services (DMS) is embarking on a major demonstration, using an 1115 waiver issued by the Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) to address the health care needs of ‘able bodied adults’ enrolled in Medicaid. This position will oversee and conduct the conversion of data into meaningful insights that will lead to informed business decisions for customers enrolled in Medicaid. The position will work directly with high-level stakeholders to develop complex analytical designs for Tableau dashboards while also diagnosing, validating, and improving performance of statistical data models over time. The position is expected to provide leadership and technical support to junior database analysts and other developers. The person in this position will develop logical and conceptual data flows that support and guide appropriate and effective use of the data. The person must understand business functions and business requirements, handle multiple simultaneous tasks, prioritize work, and remain functional under aggressive timelines. The Senior Data Research Analyst will also develop complex, efficient, and reusable SQL code meant for improvement, manipulation, and analysis of data. Other responsibilities include performing data conversions, writing code, identifying relevant trends, preparing reports & visualizations, and developing dashboards. The candidate selected must have prior healthcare and data mining/modeling experience. This position will follow a hybrid schedule. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | Prior healthcare and data mining/modeling experience. Development and management skills. Working knowledge of Tableau, T-SQL and PL/SQL. Strong communication skills (verbal and written). Knowledge and experience in a health care environment. |
