Seeking a highly qualified and self-motivated cybersecurity specialist to support the US Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command. The cybersecurity specialist will develop, deploy, modernize, and expand the program and its customers. A successful candidate will work as part of a team in pursuit and maintaining Authority to Operate (ATO) for multiple Information Systems (IS). This position supports cybersecurity efforts throughout the RMF process to include the development and management of technical security solutions that meet security policy requirements such as host based security systems, central account management systems, and/or central logging solutions.
Key responsibilities are:
- Identify and configure host based security systems, central account management systems, and/or central logging systems
- Perform vulnerability/risk assessment analysis to support accreditation and other program protection activities
- Utilize various information system inspection tools to audit systems, analyze potential vulnerabilities and identify mitigation approaches
- Conduct technical evaluation of information system designs, focusing on information security aspects and accreditation
- Review completion and implementation of system additions and enhancements, and makes recommendations to management
- Develop, gather, and update system documentation for reoccurring ATO activities across multiple IS
- Maintain a working knowledge of IS functions, security policies, technical security safeguards, and operational security measures
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology and security threats as assigned
Required Experience
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field and 5 or more years of relevant experience, or Masters degree and 3 of more years of relevant experience.
- Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or associate certification required for DoD 8570 IASAE III compliance
- Experience with DIACAP and RMF
- Experience in applying information systems security principles and concepts, and project management principles.
- Experience with patching and applying STIGs and other cyber technologies that implement security controls in military cyberspace operational environments such as firewalls, router ACLs, PKI, OWASP, scripting, identity management, virtualization, etc.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate effectively at all organization levels
Desired Experience
- HBSS/ESS and ACAS/Nessus installation and management experience
- Experience with scripting languages
- Performing vulnerability and penetration tests, identifying and defending against threats, and developing disaster recovery plans
- Creating network policies and authorization roles and defending against unauthorized access, modifications, and destruction
