Job Summary:
Provide support to our external and internal customers in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with an opportunity for growth through strong product, system, and process knowledge. Provide sales support for the sales team so they can focus their time on engaging with the customers and pursuing new business. Understand the various business processes and functions of the inquiry to cash cycle, including sales quotes, sales orders, product availability, freight quotes, export licenses, contract administration/compliance. Drive continuous improvement to meet the needs of the business and provide our customers with superior service while working very closely with other functions of the company including: manufacturing, planning, legal, shipping, engineering, and finance.

Essential Functions*:

  • Build up, and maintain, strong and deep knowledge of the sales process, ordering process, product information and configuration, and systems used daily by the customer fulfillment team.
  • Provide primary support to the customer, for all inquiries, including processing all sales orders. Provide accurate product information and availability, lead times, export licensing, shipping terms, billing, etc. based on the customer's requirements while maintaining accuracy and compliance and delivering superior service, while acting as the liaison with sales, production, compliance, shipping, and accounting departments.
  • Drive continuous improvement to reduce and eliminate waste while streamlining and improving key processes of the department with the primary goal of superior customer satisfaction. Including effective utilization of systems and tools such as the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
  • Responsible for all customer account validation and set up as well as contract administration/compliance through coordination with Sales, Legal, and, Accounting to ensure requirements are met.
  • Provide inside sales support to the sales team. Establish and maintain good working relationships with house accounts. Maintain accurate customer information including all contacts, addresses, and phone numbers, and preferences for each customer. Assist in customer meetings/trade events and development of presentations and new product introductions when necessary.
  • Work together with team members to ensure the smooth operation of day-to-day business within the department and throughout the company. Providing back-up support to other team members as needed.
  • Create and Provide dashboards and reports for sales team as well as other business functions.
  • Support and administer EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) as well as Customer Portal web ordering applications.
  • Lead contract review processes to ensure smooth and effective completion of government and defense contracts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education / Training / Skills / Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or other related discipline; or 5+ years of equivalent professional business experience.
  • 3+ years of Customer Service, Internal Sales, or Sales Support experience in a manufacturing or corporate environment required. Time spent as Co-op or intern can be considered applicable experience.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Professional, business-oriented approach while maintaining customer focus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining organization and priorities.
  • Strong organizational and follow up skills while ensuring compliance is maintained for contract administration/compliance.
  • High level of initiative and strong work ethic.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for long periods of time while using office equipment and computers.
  • Ability to lift 20lbs periodically.
