Role Summary:CT is an essential imaging technology with a very broad range of applicability in medical diagnostics and therapy guidance. CT continues to have everyday impact on the care of millions of patients as well as enabling in cutting edge medical research. GE has been a leader in CT through the history of this imaging modality and we continue to define the future of this essential modality.

Essential Responsibilities:



+ Understands current critical patient and customer needs, and anticipates emerging needs



+ Stays current on state-of-the-art developments in emerging technologies and connects those to customer impact



+ Identifies and prioritizes advanced technologies that meet those clinical and market needs in a differentiating way,





+ Provides vision to translate these needs into technology roadmaps



+ Guides global scientific and engineering innovation to realize the clinical and commercial benefits of new technologies



+ Leads technical and scientific reviews to ensure rigor in development of strategic advanced technologies



+ Mentors Principal Engineers/Scientists and coaches thought leaders from across the business



+ Works directly on research and development collaborations with external customers, academics, our Technology leadership team, and GE Global Research





+ Regularly interacts with technical and scientific community through collaborations , conferences & Medical Advisory Boards and regularly speaks at external conferences as an expert ambassador for GE



+ Provides domain expertise and reviews technical and scientific papers/publications from less experienced engineers and/or scientists



+ Provides vision and guidance to our technology and business leaders to champion intellectual property development; define a competitive portfolio of intellectual property and recommends strategic intellectual property investments



+ Drives the clinical research roadmap to generate clinical evidence



+ Looks outside for solutions and best practices to improve quality, lower costs, and increase access.







Qualifications/Requirements:



+ Minimum of a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Biomedical Engineering or related field



+ Minimum 10 years experience in senior-level technology roles in the field of Computed Tomography, with demonstrated successful experience leading global teams



+ Demonstrated technical expertise in broad aspects of CT imaging, including algorithms and system designs



+ Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions and manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment; must be responsive and willing to take ownership of issues and drive solutions.



+ Track record of driving thought leadership in CT imaging through publications, conference presentations, and patent disclosures



+ Proven communication, coaching and interpersonal skills, at all levels of the organization, able to energize and inspire.



+ Team player able to work closely with a global team and open to sharing information and best practices with the team.



+ Must be willing to work in our Milwaukee-area location full-time

+ Strong multi-generation technology planning experience with an excellent understanding of product system architecture(s), platforms and core functional technologies



+ Product, Clinical, Technology & Scientific Knowledge: Excellent knowledge of patient/customer and segment related clinical applications and workflow as well as scientific/engineering methods/theory with an affinity for technology and clinical solutions within a functional domain



+ Strong business acumen as well as customer focused influencing skills



+ Proven experience in regulated medical device company



+ Six sigma/ 5S/ Lean trained
