**Job Description Summary**

Crane Specialist will be responsible for managing all cranes subcontractors required to support Wind Services organization within the region (in activities related to main component exchanges, up tower repairs and lift operations). In order to achieve that, the role will be required to standardize crane operations creating process, documents and lead bid for hiring cranes, ensure safe execution, evaluate crane contractors to drive lessons learned and lean mind set.

**Job Description**

**Essential Responsibilities**

+ Analyze all lifting plans in order to optimize the best working conditions.

+ Drive EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) cranes regulations; Also ensure the team operates under all requirements set by GE EHS Team.

+ Lead the review of each work instructions and work with the Hub Leaders to update and ensure that the most up to date procedure is available.

+ Work closely with GE Global team looking for new technologies and practices on crane industry.

+ Drive technical training needs with field team to ensure compliance in the services operations.

+ Create/Optimize standard documents related to lift plans.

+ Audit the suppliers in the field or suppliers headquarters

+ Work closely with supplier to Optimize the mob and demob timing.

+ Reduce On Time Delivery for cranes activities

+ Provide leadership to drive crane management for Wind Service Operations - Latin America.

+ Assure the required capabilities is implemented and running to achieve the highest cost out benefit and standard of quality across the region.

+ Work closely with other GE Wind Organizations (Field Services, Field Operations, FRO, Training, Parts Fulfillment, Service Growth, Sourcing, Transactional, etc) in the course of the activities.

+ Provide support to transactional opportunities related to main component exchange and any other work requiring cranes.

+ Deliver cost saving expected for the year with cranes works. Identify and lead productivity opportunities.

+ Coordinate cranes RFQs ensuring proper documentation is provided.

+ Perform on-site installation of systems and equipment, repair, main component exchange.

+ Respond to requests for emergency repairs and services assuring cranes are available with reasonable price and time.

+ Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, repair and maintenance related to cranes works.

+ Perform administrative functions; such as writing technical reports, securing quotations, preparing job status reports, reports to customers, time sheet and expense sheets on a complete timely, and thorough basis.

+ Provide leadership and technical direction to skilled labor performing work on customer sites.

+ Maintain strong safety mindset to assure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within GE safety standards.


+ Engineering or technical degree.

+ Robust experience on crane industry;

+ Robust experience on wind industry;

+ Large rigger experience;

+ Commercial skills;

+ Proficiency in MS Office, CAD, Solid Works, etc.

+ Portuguese and English Fluent.

**Eligibility Requirements:**

+ Domestically, including weekends and holidays.

+ Ability and willingness to maintain a valid passport

+ Ability and willingness to maintain a valid drivers license

**Desired characteristics**

+ Bachelors degree in Engineering is preferred.

+ Spanish proficiency

+ Strong oral and written communication skills.

+ Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

+ Proven analytical and quality improvement ability.

+ Able to interface at all levels of the organization both internally and externally.
