Job Summary
The Department of Theatre & Dance in the College of Fine Arts seeks a Cutter/Draper for our growing Costume Studio. Successful candidate will serve as Cutter/Draper for an estimated 8-show production season including 1 musical, 2 operas, 3 plays, dance concert, and the annual Grand Night for Singing summer musical production.

The creative collaborator is responsible for the interpretation, construction, and preparation of production costumes to produce work of both artistic expression and a practical garment that truly fits performers and the performance conditions. Ability to maintain the integrity of the totality of the design of each garment is critical. Cutter/Draper solves challenges in real time to achieve the shared artistic vision of a production. Time management, planning, and ability to meet established deadlines is vital to the success of this role and productions.

Other responsibilities include providing oversight to practicum students and assist in teaching basic costume construction skills. This position collaborates with the Faculty Costume Director to resource inventory, purchase, rent, alter, and construct costumes and accessories for all productions. Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Theatre is highly desired. Exceptional and significant professional experience will be considered. Position begins August 1, 2022.
