Cost & Schedule Controller

Role Summary:

The Project Control & Planning Engineer will be responsible for both cost and schedule control. Liaising within PMO team about scope, execution ability and risks during the development stage.







Essential Responsibilities:



+ Coordinating the overall project cost analysis activities from a lead

position



+ Assumes the responsibility for the preparation, quality and accuracy of all

the project reporting



+ Leads the Cost and Schedule discussions during weekly and monthly

reviews



+ Provides liaison and guidance to project management and clients on

matters relating to planning and cost control



+ Identifies and prepares estimates for change orders, trends and extra

work orders



+ Understands construction methodology and will be asked to make site

visits to review mitigation strategies in order to make schedule and economic

recommendations



+ Is capable of identifying future potential costs and make a judgment

regarding its impact to inform the EAC



+ Makes sure that cost data is being gathered in a proper format to allow

for a concise closeout report



+ Puts together Project Controls Closeout Report where it relates to cost

and schedule





Planning

and Scheduling responsibilities:











+ Develop Project Schedules & Review scheduling data and provide input to Contractors and GE team as

schedules are developed.



+ Ensure contractors reporting are as per the minimum GE requirements



+ Monitor Contractor and Project actual progress versus planned progress



+ Provide exception reporting and recommend actions



+ Analyse Critical paths & Lead integration and roll-up of contractors schedules and GE tasks to

ensure a fully integrated schedule



+ Prepare overall schedule report analysis for the monthly progress

report



+ Ensure schedule related information, including

analysis of deviations from the plan is communicated



+ Establish and communicate Project Schedule

Milestones



+ Schedule variance analysis



+ Provide input to the project Risk Register



+ Seek innovation in scheduling and execution plans that

could improve project economics and optimize outcomes















Qualifications/Requirements:





+ Degree in engineering / project

management and/or construction management or Quantity Surveyance



+ Higher education in project

management (e.g. PMP certification)/ business management (desirable but not

essential)



+ Minimum 6-8 years project Cost Control and 4-7 years planning

experience (Combined 10-15 years).



+ Demonstrated ability to interpret and analyze project schedule and costs, assess progress, provide forecasts,

and advise estimate at complete.



+ Ability to recognize and administrate Project management of change needs

with GEs Sub Contractors and also with the GE client contract.



+ Ability

to work in a diverse cultural team environment; be able to work unsupervised;

accept responsibility and act on directives.



+ Demonstrated

ability to deliver good quality work with high levels of accuracy.



+ High level

of interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to

actively interact and work with the GE and external parties as required.



+ Excellent

skills in multi-tasking, prioritisation and time management including ability

to manage numerous tasks in a demanding environment.



+ A

preparedness to learn and adopt new work practices, systems and procedures.



+ Self-motivated,
