Helping Food Find A Home Where It's Needed Most

As a wholesale food distribution company, National Food Group is an expert at ensuring that food has a home. Step 1 is a commitment to take that expertise even further. As food experts, food insecurity is a cause that we are very passionate about. That's why we've committed to donating 5% of our annual net profit to organizations that assist in alleviating food insecurity, helping provide nutritious meals to those who need it most, and supporting education that coincides with these causes.

At National Food Group, were proud of our fun, collaborative, and progressive culture, and were always looking for ways to innovate corporate life to be more fun and convenient for our team members. With an open office layout, some awesome coffee-espresso machines, themed events like popcorn days and Cinco de Mayo parties, our team has a good balance of work and play. Who ever said Corporate Social Responsibility couldnt be fun?

The Corporate Social Responsibility Manager will be responsible for reviewing, reestablishing, reimagining, revitalizing, revamping our Step 1 vision/brand, strategy and multi-year implementation plan to include our four pillars:

  1. Food - Food is the cornerstone of what we do. Through food, we feed the body and the mind. We need to make sure that we are getting the right food to the right people. Goal - The right food to more people to help reduce hunger.

  2. Education - Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world - Nelson Mandela. We want to support those who have a drive for education but may not have the resources. Goal - Create and provide education access through grants/scholarships/foundation(s) with the focus on agriculture, nutrition, and food science.

  3. Community - If food is the cornerstone, then our work in the community is the mortar that binds us all together.  We must get out from behind our desks and get involved in our community. Goal - To actively promote and engage our team in the communities we serve.

  4. Employment - We must hire people from all different communities, backgrounds, and life experiences. Goal - Promote the hiring, development, and advancement of underrepresented groups through the expansion of our candidate pool, strategic diversity recruitment, partner with professional associations, and engage in philanthropic activities that support these efforts.
