Corporate Accountant

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

·        Plan and perform monthly and quarterly close activities, including journal entry processing, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analyses and analytical reviews, producing internal management reporting and financial statement support.

·        Perform a daily settlement of the cash accounts along with accurate assignment of all charges and credits directly from or passed through Agribank to the correct note payable. Track and resolve any outstanding items as they occur.

·        Complete a daily reconciliation of our notes payable to AgriBankâs notes receivable. Identify, track and resolve any out of balances as they occur.

·        Maintain various monthly amortization schedules, perform the monthly amortization processes by creating accurate entries for each, and reconcile both the amortized and unamortized balances.

·        Create, validate, and upload accurate and balanced general ledger entries into Lawson as required. Provide adequate supporting documentation to justify each entry.

·        Receipt all checks received daily, make general ledger entries when necessary, electronically file the remittances that accompany the checks, and scan the checks through remote deposit capture.

·        Process the monthly cost allocations. Includes updating percentages on a monthly, quarter, and annual basis, performing the calculations within the cost allocation module as well as manually in excel and validate results.

·        Maintain accurate records in the employee database where the payroll and expense report cost allocation splits are held for each employee. 

·        Administer AgCountryâs vehicle program and the insurance program.

·        Process and validate semi-monthly entries from our payroll provider. Resolve any outstanding benefits in arrears with human resources and/or payroll provider. Reconcile salary and benefit general ledger accounts to the monthly payroll registers.

·        Review income and expense account for inaccuracies and make necessary corrections prior to month end allocations.  

·        Manage the capital assets as required by AgCountry procedures, IRS standards and GAAP accounting standards. Provide periodic reporting to our ICFR team and our tax service at AgriBank. Provide account reconciliation and monthly rollforwards of all capital assets.

·        Manage the capital leases within Lawson to ensure timely payment of all corporate leases and accurate accounting in accordance with GAAP requirements.

·        Manage intercompany accounting of expenses for our commercial finance group.

·        Develop a working knowledge of the systems that interface into our financial software Lawson.  Develop and maintain accounting process documentation.

·        Key contributor to finance goals and implementing scalable accounting processes from an operational and technical perspective.  Assist in support of external audit, including preparation of audit requests and ongoing support as needed.  Support management in completing special projects, ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests, and other tasks as assigned.  Provide analysis and reporting as requested by others inside and outside the department and/or association.



Required Qualifications:

·        Bachelorâs degree in accounting or related field and/or equivalent related experience

·        3+ years of progressive accounting experience.

·        Strong detail, analytical and organizational skills; ability to understand complex inter- and intra-company accounting relationships.

·        Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Ability to work proficiently within deadlines and thrive on working in a fast-paced environment; experience managing multiple priorities within a high-energy, collaborative, fast moving environment.

·        Knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

·        Understanding of and the utilization of financial statements, call reports, and annual reports.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

·        CPA or equivalent designation or ability to obtain post-hire
