Physical Requirements

Sitting and/or standing for long periods of time; ability to lift, push and/or pull objects up to 50lbs.; effectively communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds and varied professional levels, and phone communication.

Shift

Monday – Friday; 8:00 am – 5:00 pm., possible overtime occasionally to fill work requirements.

Employee will adhere to all UK Healthcare work time schedules and requirements.

Job Summary

Under general supervision, the Contracting Officer Lead will perform purchasing related functions and activities related to the procurement of goods and services for University of Kentucky Healthcare and participate in the contracting and value analysis processes. This position will interact with vendors and departments to ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to and service levels are met or exceeded.This position will train all other Contract Officers and be a subject matter expert for all Contract Officers in Healthcare for this position.

This position is essential to UK Healthcare’s operations and will follow UK Healthcare’s schedule.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Microsoft suite, SAP, and Communication Skills (both oral and written).

Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No
Preferred Education/Experience

Prior Healthcare employment preferred.
