Ability to carry up to 25 pounds around Campus.

Shift

Hours are determined by program responsibility, needs of facility in supervision, and class schedule. An average of 20 hours weekly are required of the position with percentage of hours conducted at each facility. Ability to work additional supervision shifts or conduct training classes/sessions up to an additional 8 hours a week (28 hours total) pending approval by the Director of Graduate Studies for Graduate program and the UK Graduate School. Additional assignments are available after the first year of the assistantship.

Job Summary

The Graduate Assistant for Collegiate Recovery Community is responsible for assisting in the coordination and management for the Campus Recovery Community initiative. This position will be responsible for increasing awareness of recovery resources on campus and building a community among students. The successful candidate will have strong communication, organization, and outreach skills. Experience with the recovery community is preferred. Passion for recovery is a must.

Must have excellent Customer Service, Teamwork, the ability to work independently and responsibly.

Preferred Education/Experience

1. Background and understanding of substance misuse recovery programming and supports.

2. Experience in assessing, designing, and implementing individual and group recovery supports, outreach, and programming.

3. Successful candidate will be mature and responsible person who demonstrates flexibility, the ability to work well with others and problem solving.

4. Successful candidate will be interested in improving their skillset through learning opportunities from program participants, supervisors, peers, and subject matter experts
