Job Summary

Looking to be part of something bigger? Come join our great team of Grant Proposals Specialists and provide the grant and budget expertise behind a UK College of Medicine Research Faculty’s next big discovery! Accounting for the majority of UK’s National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding, the UK College of Medicine’s is the place to be for innovative, cutting-edge research in an extensive range of areas—from Cancer Research to Cardiovascular and Alzheimer’s Disease to COVID-19 and a lot in between. As part of the College of Medicine, our office, Sponsored Research Administrative Services (SRAS), plays an important part in supporting this great research from the administrative side.

As a Grant Proposal Specialist (GPS) (College Grant Officer), you’ll provide grant proposal support to a group of departments and centers within the College of Medicine. Reporting to the SRAS Pre-Award Manager, you’ll be primarily responsible for working with faculty on the administrative and budgetary aspects of their research proposals. As part of your daily responsibilities, you’ll provide grant-related policy knowledge and guidance to College faculty members. The main goals are to ensure a high-level of compliance with all applicable policies and regulations, while helping to ensure that each proposal passes the muster of a sponsor’s administrative and budgetary requirements. For each faculty member’s proposal that is funded, we know that one of our staff members played a part in that success story.

The key to our office’s success is providing exceptional service. We do that through our on-time assistance, focus on project and timeline management, and continual learning in this field of Research Administration.
