Physical Requirements

Lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects up to 50 lbs. Ability to spot and supervise stunting and elite level cheer skills.

Job Summary

The Head Cheer Coach at the University of Kentucky coordinates all aspects of the internationally acclaimed and all-time winningest cheer program in the nation, including student-athlete development, behavior and academic progress, organizes practices and workouts in preparation for nationals competition as well as home and away games, and other appearances. Oversees all financial aspects of budgeting and scholarship management with oversight of the immediate supervisor. Recruits prospective students and manages all Kentucky Cheer camps and clinics. Directs and manages the Wildcat and Scratch mascots for athletic events, mascot program operations, as well as scheduling appearance events both on and off campus. Oversees team members and cheer assistant coaches. Manages team policies and procedures in accordance with Athletic Department, University, NCAA, SEC, UCA and USA Cheer/AACCA guidelines in conjunction with immediate supervisor and Senior Woman Administrator.
