**Job Description Summary**

The engineer will be a member of the Ceramic Matrix Composite (CMC) and Environmental Barrier Coating (EBC) materials and processing team whose mission is to advance state of the art CMCs and EBC's and enable CMC technologies for commercial and military aerospace applications. In this role, you will primarily partner with other materials engineers and a vertically integrated supply chain to apply and advance process modeling for CMC raw materials including tow coating chemical vapor deposition, for CMC components including thermal processing, and for component coatings. The models are applied to innovate the next generation of processing equipment, define and establish operating/design parameters, validate process changes, and support root cause investigations.

**Job Description**

Roles and Responsibilities

+ Advance technology readiness levels for CMC process models.

+ Execute CMC roadmaps that support component durability, performance, and cost out.

+ Partner with multi-disciplinary teams and Supply Chain to support CMC technology maturation programs, root cause investigations, and other process or material development to support current fielded products like LEAP and GE9X

+ Develop next generation CMC materials and processes to support future commercial and/or military components

+ Support data analytics and modeling of manufacturing processes

+ Participate on cross-functional teams analyzing and resolving problems

+ Document technical data and lessons learned

Required Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college within the fields of Engineering, Physics, or Chemistry.

+ Desired Characteristics

+ Strong oral and written communication skills.

+ Skilled with Object Oriented Programming Languages such as C/C++ and Python

+ Skilled with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of fluid flow and chemical reactions. Proficiency in FEA software such as ANSYS or ABAQUSand COMSOL preferred.

+ Experience with data and statistical analyses
