Role Summary: This role is responsible for serving as the Chief Engineer for GE Gas Power, leading and collaborating with a team of engineering experts across multiple disciplines within a Combined Cycle Power Plant to drive technical excellence in design practices, product safety and the development of expertise and talent throughout the business.

Role Summary: This role is responsible for serving as the Chief Engineer for GE Gas Power, leading and collaborating with a team of engineering experts across multiple disciplines within a Combined Cycle Power Plant to drive technical excellence in design practices, product safety and the development of expertise and talent throughout the business.



Responsibilities:



+ Responsible for leading, hiring, coaching and developing engineers at all levels of the organization, from senior technical experts to entry-level talent. Creates a safe, inspirational and inclusive workplace. Establishes a culture of unyielding integrity and ethical behavior.

+ Accelerates the adoption of Lean to drive continuous improvement throughout the organization. Exemplifies the principles of Lean and uses Lean tools and processes to enable problem solving and improvement in business performance.

+ Assures technical excellence and safety in all GE Gas Power products including gas turbine, steam turbine, generator, Heat Recovery Steam Generator and plant equipment.

+ Responsible for our Engineering Product Safety team and the entire Chief Consulting Engineering team. Ensures that technically sound, creative advancements in design are integrated throughout all processes, practices and products.

+ Implements actions needed to produce quality designs that contribute to technical excellence in GE Gas Power products.

+ Collaborates cross-functionally and with other engineering leaders to deliver solutions.

+ Develops and executes technical depth assessments and implements strategies to develop and foster long-term technical excellence.

+ Oversees process for selecting engineering controlled-title holders in organization.

+ Develops the technical training strategy for the engineering community, including our entry-level Engineering developmental program.

+ Engages in root cause assessments for products and process technical issues.

+ Establishes and drives large-scale change to improve business performance. Creates programs responsive to external environment. Participates in cross-functional business and cultural development.

+ Develops long range strategy to improve organizational effectiveness globally and support business needs.



Qualifications:



+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college of Science in Engineering

+ At least ten years of progressively responsible positions in an engineering environment.



Desired Characteristics:



+ Master's degree in Engineering

+ Education and work experience in materials science

+ Leads with a Lean mindset and is skilled in applying Lean tools to improve business operations

+ Technical depth and expertise in gas turbines and/or gas power plant systems

+ Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet challenging goals

+ Demonstrated ability to hire, coach and develop technical talent

+ Strong oral and written communication skills

+ Strong interpersonal, collaboration and relationship-building skills
