FSMB is seeking a Business Analyst.

General Responsibilities:

The Business Analyst serves as an internal FSMB consultant to end-users, business unit leaders, and project team members to ensure clear understanding and communication of business/project requirements in an agile environment. The position is involved in the overall success of the FSMB by contributing to a technology platform that meets the evolving needs of the organization.

The Business Analyst will function as a key team player to ensure that the design and integration of proposed processes, systems, software, and hardware solutions lead to the growth and development of the business. This role will assist in:

  • Gaining an understanding of the “big picture” (FSMB Goals) and direction of the various business units
  • Identifying system issues related to business process improvements
  • Assisting technical and business unit staff in the development of systems and application solutions

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, organized, and be able to work independently and as part of a team in an agile environment. Additional skills needed:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, to communicate information effectively to customers and technical staff
  • Strong interviewing skills, to meet with individuals and groups about their needs, ask the right questions, understand what is said and identify gaps
  • Analytical skills, to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, decompose high-level information into details, and distinguish requirements from ideas
  • Facilitation skills, to lead requirements elicitation sessions
  • Organizational skills, to order the information gathered during elicitation and analysis and to cope with rapidly changing information
  • Interpersonal skills, to negotiate priorities and to resolve issues among project stakeholders

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline required

Desired Experience/Knowedge:

  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum
  • Experience with Fundamental SQL query skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Microsoft Visio/diagramming tool experience a plus
  • Previous experience in an information technology environment a plus (0 -2 yrs.)
