Responsibilities:

The Build and Configuration Management Engineer will be responsible for the implementation and management of all application build/deployment automation solutions based on Product Engineering designs, including:
 
•Automate application builds and deployments suggesting simplest and most cost-effective system options to facilitate agile development process.
•Develop solutions to automation scenarios and integrating these into the development process and existing tooling. 
•Perform software builds and support software configuration for all in-house and 3rd party products.
•Developing and maintaining release and configuration documentation to facilitate audits and compliance requirements
•Research/resolve bottlenecking issues with the deployment of programs and updates.
•Perform code management maintenance and upgrades of multiple SCM systems.  
•Follow Performant IT policies and processes.
•Other duties as may be required or assigned to meet business needs.
 
Required Skills and Knowledge:

•System level knowledge and knowledge of cloud technology – preferably AWS 
•Experience using and configuring DevOps tools – Teamcity/Jenkins
•Knowledge of configuration management, and CI orchestration systems.
•Knowledge of scripting languages – preferably PowerShell
•Knowledge of Ansible, Chef or Puppet, Packer or Terraform is a Plus
•Experience working with source code management systems – Git, BitBucket, SVN
•Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others. 
•Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly and concisely articulate complex ideas and concepts
•Capable of quickly learning new technologies and procedures, as well as being willing to train others in procedures mastered as part of implementations
•Ability to obtain security clearance for Public Trust Positions
 

Physical Requirements

*Performs duties in a busy standard office environment with moderate noise level. *Sits or stands at a desk, reaching as needed to use office equipment. *Makes and returns calls using an office phone system. *Views a computer monitor, types on a keyboard and uses a mouse. * Reads and comprehends information in electronic (computer) or paper form (written/printed). *Types frequently, but not constantly, using a keyboard and mouse. *May occasionally lifts/carries/pushes/pulls up to 10 pounds. 
 
Education and Experience:

•Bachelor's degree in computer science, or a computer-related field or the equivalent course work or technical training.
•Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in Software Configuration,  Automation or DevOps  role
