Fermilab's Core Computing Division is seeking an Audio Video Associate. Under general supervision, deploys new network systems; monitors and, evaluates the performance and security, provides technical support, and assists in the analysis of all elements of existing network systems; recommends and implements improvements/upgrades of existing systems, evaluates new network technology, assists with planning, designing and testing new networking systems

You Will:
  • Design and assist in response to user requests for multiple applications, systems, network, and other telecommunications activities. Works on several routine components of a project as directed.
  • Support multiple lab services, for example, authentication services, email and messaging services, audio/video conferencing services, application services, computer security, central web hosting, etc.
  • Assist in installing, configuring, networking, maintaining and upgrading operating systems on workstations and servers, including database and web servers, in support of scientific and business processing requirements.
  • Support areas that include: database administration and analysis, network analysis and architecture, web development and operations, functional analysis, and systems administration. No involvement in application development and systems analysis, programming, or computer security.
  • Conduct assigned routine hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Communicate and coordinate with other technical personnel working closely on a project. May also interact with those from non-computing disciplines.
  • Abides by and is responsible for performing all duties in accordance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and practices pertinent to this position.

Relocation is not available for this position.

We Are Looking For:
  • High diploma required. Associate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline, preferred.
  • Knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures in audiovisual and zoom video conferencing
  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Must communicate effectively both in writing and orally
  • Must work cooperatively with a diverse group of professional and scientific
