Job Summary | To best support the financial literacy and wellness of our students, the University of Kentucky is seeking an innovative leader to serve as an inaugural Associate Vice President (AVP) for Student Financial Stability. Reporting directly to the Vice President for Student Success, this AVP will serve as the area leader for both Student Financial Aid and Scholarships and Student Financial Wellness. Additionally, the AVP will serve as a co-leader of nationally recognized initiatives that focus on financial stability like UK LEADS and UK Invests. The AVP will have the inquisitiveness and intellectual confidence to inspire broad excitement and innovation focused on student financial stability. They will possess the analytical and intellectual abilities needed to design, implement, and evaluate effective management practices in a complex academic organization at a senior leadership level. Examples of this work include, but are not limited to, strategic planning, operations design and assessment, and financial aid and human resources planning, stewardship, and assessment. Preferred Education/Experience | The successful candidate will possess a mater’s degree in higher education, business administration, or a related field and at least ten years of progressively responsible and relevant experience in financial aid management or a closely aligned field. Experience in a comprehensive university with a highly diverse student population is also strongly preferred. While not required, a doctorate or other terminal degree is preferred. In addition, the new AVP will need a demonstrated commitment to student success and significant experience facilitating change, allocating and managing resources, and supervising staff. |
