Position Summary:  The Associate Director, Revenue Accounting will be responsible for monthly and quarterly accounting processes for all US Generic product revenues including delivering close results accurately and timely, supporting quarterly and annual audit requirements and promoting and maintaining a strong control environment. This role will participate in and support forecasting and budgeting processes specifically focused on understanding Gross to Net estimates and liabilities for existing and future products. In addition to key accounting deliverables this role will also develop the efficiency and accuracy of accounting operations of daily revenue reporting and supporting commercial management requests needed to properly evaluate product growth, channel utilization and profitability.

 

Travel Requirements:  Limited to no travel position is located in Parsippany.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:                                                                

  • Ensure revenue accounting policies and procedures and reporting conforms with US GAAP guidelines.
  • Preparation and review of accounting close activities including the review of new contracts, complex account reconciliations, quarterly analytics and controls
  • Responsible for overseeing and review of analysis on all sales reserves - on-going and formalized month-end / quarter-end basis. 
  • Work collaboratively with the Forecasting, Commercial Operations, Sales and Marketing, Pricing, Customer Administration and Accounts receivable to ensure all programs contemplated in the gross to net revenue accounting are accurate and complete
  • Drive continuous improvement of the efficiency and accuracy of internal reporting measures including scorecard/flash, monthly/quarterly revenue analytics reporting, and profitability reporting
  • Support financial planning leads in providing actual data and trends related to gross to net reserves
  • Support validation and sales analysis; including the oversight of the review processes of accrual rates, wholesaler inventories, returns, in transit shipments, Medicaid, and other data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Support external reporting and audit requirements including receivables factoring
  • Expand the use of and engagement in reporting tools to improve efficiency
  • Opportunities to collaborate and support efforts in other areas including Specialty Revenue Accounting and Alliance Accounting.

Education Required: Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field
 
Experience Required: 

  • Minimum 5 plus years progressive accounting experience
  • Pharmaceutical Industry Experience
  • Prior revenue accounting experience
  • Prior supervisory experience

 

Experience Preferred: 

 

  • Experience with SAP ERP Modules
  • Generic Pharmaceutical Industry Experience

 

  • Specialized or Technical Knowledge Lenses, Certifications needed: 
  • Knowledge and experience in application of US GAAP

 

Technical:

  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of US GAAP and solid accounting skills
  • Demonstrates proficiency in financial analysis, reporting and interpretation of data
  • Uses good analytical and data interpretation skills to analyze and resolve complex financial problems
  • Ability to analyze problems, actively strategize to resolve such problems, solid organization skills, and a proven track record of process improvement and standardization
