Job Description


The Associate Director, CNS/Pain HCP Marketing will lead the development and execution of an HCP promotional plan for one of our key upcoming innovative launch brands in North America.  The ideal candidate is a strategic self-starter who is passionate about helping patients by effectively reaching and educating healthcare professionals on a new therapeutic option, while working with colleagues to build a dynamic new growth driver for the organization.


  1. Develops HCP strategy and direction of the brand (35%)
  2. Identifies and segments HCPs for sales force and non-personal promotion
  3. Identifies and addresses drivers and obstacles to brand adoption among target HCPs
  4. Develops, refines and evolves core promotional campaign for HCPs to correspond to brand  needs and market insights
  5. Provides brand leadership to the sales force (25%)
  6. Collaborates with sales leadership to ensure optimal reach and engagement of target HCPs
  7. Develops and ensures sales force has optimal product training and selling materials
  8. Conduct sales force ad boards and act as the brand liaison to the sales teams
  • Works with multi-channel marketing team to develop and execute an effective non-personal HCP promotion plan that complements sales force efforts (20%)
  • Works across core and extended brand team to contribute to success of brand (20%)
  1. Attends external customer meetings including advisory boards with external experts
  2. Makes presentations to customer facing functions and management in various meetings
  3. Manages overall and specific budgets to achieve defined targets
  4. Analyzes market data and information

Education required               

Bachelors Degree, Business or marketing degree, or MBA

Experience required           

  • Minimum of 7 years pharmaceutical marketing or sales experience required
  • Minimum of 5 years of US marketing experience, including HCP promotion, as part of a pharmaceutical branded marketing team with increased responsibilities over time
  • Experience in managing an Agency of Record or other agencies that support a brand

Specific type of experience required   

  • Launch experience for a pharmaceutical product required
  • Pain experience highly preferred
  • Experience working with global and/or alliance marketing partners highly preferred
