Position Summary

The Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine is seeking a full-time academic podiatrist to train and lead the next generation of podiatrists in an interprofessional, multicultural learning environment.

Applicants must be board qualified with preference for board certification in foot surgery and reconstructive rearfoot/ankle surgery. Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with scholarly credentials.

Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science (RFUMS) is a five-college graduate health sciences university dedicated to the interprofessional education of health and biomedical professionals. Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine (SCPM) has been educating podiatric physicians since 1912. Scholl College is a recognized leader in advancing podiatric medical education in an interprofessional manner to meet the demands of todays patients.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Lecturing, Workshops, Skills Labs, Committee work, Student mentoring, Course Coordinating, Exam writing, Exam proctoring, Clinicals (when applicable)

All full-time faculty members employed by RFUMS are expected to engage in activities that are considered core to their primary role as a faculty member. These activities may include teaching, scholarly activity, and service.

Teaching responsibilities vary and may include:
  • Direct instruction
  • Curriculum management
  • Assessment
  • Advising and mentoring for students

Scholarly activities vary and may include:
  • Original scholarship
  • Grant procurement
  • Research mentoring

Service activities vary and may include internal and external contributions through:
  • Committees
  • Contributions to the profession
  • Recruitment
  • Direct patient care

Scholarly activities and/or clinical activities are negotiated and determined at the department level and are primarily based upon the faculty track.

Required Education & Experience
  • Graduate from an accredited U.S. college of podiatric medicine with 3-years post-doctoral residency training in an approved CPME residency program.
  • Board Certification by either ABPM or ABFAS.
  • Must achieve satisfactory results from a background check.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Forefoot and Rearfoot Reconstruction and Ankle Surgery
  • Strong biomechanics knowledge skills
  • Pediatric Orthopedics
  • Sports Medicine

Preferred Qualifications
  • Fellowship training
