Job Summary | The College of Public Health is seeking a tenure-track faculty member, whose primary responsibilities of this position are aligned with the College and University mission of teaching related to health management and policy. This is a tenure-earning or tenure-eligible position. If the faculty member is recruited in a pre-tenure capacity, they will be expected to pursue activities required for promotion and tenure, including teaching, research, and service. The faculty member will negotiate a yearly distribution of effort with the Chair of the Department of Health Management & Policy in consultation with the Dean of the College of Public Health to ensure that adequate time and resources are available to meet both the requirements for promotion and the goals of the Department and the College. As a teaching intensive faculty member, the individual in this position will be expected to serve as the primary instructor for at least 18 student credit hours (SCH) of College of Public Health courses per year, in both the Bachelor of Public Health (BPH) and the Master of Public Health (MPH) programs. Administrative and research responsibilities can reduce this load, but in no case will the faculty member teach less than 12 SCH per year. Service effort would include building strong linkages with the local public health community to facilitate student experiential learning and research opportunities. The faculty member will represent the Department on college and university committees and will oversee student research projects. The individual will also be a member of the Graduate Faculty and will be expected to engage in applied public health research and scholarly activity. Additional duties and responsibilities include: 1. Teach at least 18 credit hours per year in the College of Public Health; summer teaching will be expected for this 12-month position. 2. Provide leadership for curriculum design activities for the department. 3. Represent the department on college and university committees. 4. Engage in multidisciplinary research activities with college, university, and national collaborators. 5. Participate in other relevant practice and service opportunities at the local, state, and national level. For those employees who have completed the first vaccination against COVID-19 prior to their first day of employment, the second vaccination (if applicable) must be completed following the vaccination recommended schedule to be considered fully vaccinated. |
